It is indeed an honor and privilege to serve the City of Alpine as Mayor. Alpine is the home of the last frontier; a small town nestled high in the beautiful Davis Mountains with the best climate anywhere.  You will enjoy starry nights that are unequaled and where rainbows connect the big sky to the mountains. We are a town of western culture and heritage, home of Sul Ross State University and the gateway to the Big Bend.

We have many interesting things for you to enjoy while you are visiting our city. We offer shopping, golf, specialty shops, western shops, museums, the Theatre of the Big Bend, and performing arts of many different cultures. Join us for Cowboy Poetry, Balloon Rallies, Cinco de Mayo, Fourth of July Celebration, Gallery Night and a Mountain Country Christmas.

We have excellent health care with a new Big Bend Regional Medical Center and a dedicated staff of doctors using the latest technology.
